Recently, the team who coordinates this effort to entice people to relocate to Martin County, Minnesota was challenged with the question of what makes us different. We are competing with virtually every community in America to attract employees, entrepreneurs, residents, students and volunteers. We are different! We have assembled a team of community leaders, all who have agreed to guide a tour, help you find churches, educational opportunities, healthcare options, recreational amenities and jobs as you consider moving to our area. We would like to introduce you to the “Fairmont Area Life” team:
Linsey Preuss is the Economic Development Coordinator for the City of Fairmont. In her spare time, she serves on the Board of Trustees for her church, as a mentor for the STRIVE program, and gives back to the community as a Rotarian. Growing up in Wells, MN, she has been in southern MN her entire
life. Her family includes her husband, Travis, who is the Nutrition Services Manager at Mayo Clinic Health Systems – Fairmont, and kids: Dylan, Ayla and Carter. The family enjoys boating, hiking and the outdoors.
Connie is an Iowa native who moved to Fairmont in my early 20’s. My career has been spent working with Employment Programs for the State of Minnesota. I’m currently the Site Manager at the Fairmont Workforce Center. Our office works with job listings, veterans employment, specialized services for those with disabilities, at risk teens, senior employment, dislocated workers, employer services and job training programs. I live on a hobby farm near Fairmont and have horses and dogs. I enjoy walking, biking, kayaking, animals and nature.
